Garrie Davislim

The Australian-Irish tenor Garrie Davislim studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, Monash University, and The National Opera Studio in London. As winner of the Opera Foundation Australia’s „Italian Opera Award” he was able to study voice further in Rome and Florence. He studied voice with Franco Pagliazzi (Florence), Robert Dean (London), Kammersaengerin Hilde Rössl-Majdan (Wien) and currently with Franco Farina.
Garrie Davislim has sung at many theatres in Europe including Teatro alla Scala, Volksoper Wien, Nationaltheater Weimar, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, Staatstheater Kassel, Bayreuther Festspiele, TfN Hildesheim and the Staatsoperette Dresden. He worked with directors such as Damiano Michieletto, Philipp Arlaud, Cordula Däuper, Jasmin Solfaghari, Alexander Schulin, Sebastian Ritschel, Paul-Georg Dittrich, Jay Scheib and John Copley.
His repertoire includes: Don José (Carmen), Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera), Don Carlo (Don Carlo), Duca (Rigoletto), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Idomeneo (Idomeneo), Tito (La clemenza di Tito), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Prinz (L’amour des trois oranges), Candide (Candide), Tony (West Side Story) and many more.
Garrie Davislim is also in demand as concert singer. In opera and concert he has worked with conductors such as Pablo Heras-Casado, Riccardo Chailly, Sir Christopher Hogwood, Thomas Hengelbrock, Niklas Willén, Stefan Veselka, Marcus Bosch, Alfred Eschwé, Golo Berg, Guido Mancusi and David Parry in Europe and Australia, and has performed with WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, Berliner Konzert Chor und Orchester, Münchner and Frankfurter Symphoniker, Orchestra of Europe, Australian Chamber Orchestra and State Orchestra of Victoria.
